This deck has one of the best views across London. It's in the back garden of a private property on the side of a steep hill in Greenwich.
Over time the timber had rotted to the point of blancmange-like consistency. We were asked to reconstruct it from the frame up, including new glazing.
The existing timber was removed and the underlying framework rebuilt
A treated softwood was used, a material with improved environmental credentials over tropical hardwoods and longer lifespan than typical European hardwood alternatives
The glazing and rotten timber surround was removed...
...and replaced with a custom built metalwork and glass design
