Successional gardening
Greenwich
Year
2019 - ongoing
A 1960s architect designed house, from the same team who designed the Barbican. A narrow front garden facing south, planted to provide maximum colour, pollen and nectar through the year. The planting uses a successional style to maximise the use of space; spring bulbs are followed by summer into autumn flowering perennials. The growth and flowering time are coordinated so as one plant dies back another is growing up to replace it.
